West Coburg Football Club

U19 Coaching Changes

Late last week I contacted Justin George, U19 coach, to inform him that his services were
no longer required by the West Coburg Football Club. This was  a
decision made by the committee in the best interests of the Under 19s
and the club.

I would also like to acknowledge the assistance and contribution that
Phil Cleary's has made our the past 3 to 4 weeks, his efforts as
always have been appreciated.

The club is very excited to announce that Rick Byers has
agreed to coach the under 19s for the remainder of this season as well
as coaching the under 19s for season 2018.

Rick comes to West Coburg with an outstanding coaching CV , having
coached Westmeadows juniors for 7 years, 2 years experience at
Aberfeldie with under 14s and under 16s and 6 years experience of
coaching the the EDFL Under 16 Interleague side .

Rick's appointment is a very positive step by the club and I would
like to officially welcome Rick to club and I know he will have an
immediate impact on all the under19s and all players that he comes in
contact with.

Please join me in welcoming Rick to the West Coburg Football Club

Massive Auskick Mothers’ Day

A massive morning at West Coburg Auskick this morning, with a special day for the Mums who got up early to see their children take to the ground.

Auskick at West Coburg simpy gets bigger and bigger every season under the expert guidance of Glen Weaver, Seamus Doherty, Digby Morrell and all the other staff who assist.  The future of the Club is here … and going by the skills of the kids on the ground at this age, the future is looking pretty good!

Golden Sun Returns

The Gold Coast Sun's Adam Saad, in Melbourne for the Round 6 clash with North Melbourne, stops by Shore Reserve to watch his brother's West Coburg U13 Div 6 team beat Aberfeldie 6.3-39 to 4.6-29.  And yes – in the spirit of everyone doing their bit at WCFC – he was also Match Day Official for the match!
